This generator produces Code 128 SVG artwork for internal labels, inventory and general identification. SVG stays sharp when resized, but the encoded value and the final printing process still need validation.

Know what this barcode is for

Code 128 can encode letters, numbers and common symbols efficiently. It is useful for internal systems, asset tags and custom workflows. It does not automatically register a retail product or create an official GTIN, UPC, EAN or ISBN.

  • Use an authorised standards body for retail identifiers.
  • Match the code type expected by your scanner or software.
  • Keep a human-readable value near important labels.

Protect print quality

Export the SVG and place it without distorting its proportions. Thermal printers, low ink, glossy material and excessive reduction can close the narrow spaces between bars. Print one sample and scan it from several angles before producing a batch.

  • Use dark bars on a light background.
  • Leave clear space at both ends.
  • Avoid placing bars across folds or curved edges.

Validate the workflow

A barcode that scans correctly may still be wrong for the receiving system. Compare the decoded value with the source record, test the exact printer and label stock, and confirm that the destination application accepts Code 128 before deployment.
