QR CODE FIELD GUIDE

Build a code people can actually scan.

A QR code is only useful when its destination, contrast, quiet zone and printed size survive the real place where people use it. The generator is the quick step; validation is the important one.

Choose the right payload

Use Website for an HTTPS address, Phone for a dial action, Email for a prepared message, SMS for a text message, and Text when the information should appear directly on screen. The selected type adds the correct technical prefix so a phone knows what action to offer.

  • Keep URLs short and permanent.
  • Check every digit in phone numbers.
  • Avoid confidential information in a public QR code.

Design for reliable scanning

Keep the dark modules on a light, plain background and preserve clear space around all four edges. A decorative treatment can look attractive while making the code unreliable. Test the exported PNG, not only the preview.

  • Do not stretch the image unevenly.
  • Do not crop the white border.
  • Test at the intended print size and distance.

Understand the limitation

MakeLiora creates static QR codes. The destination is stored directly in the pattern and cannot be changed after printing. If a campaign destination may change, encode a stable page on a domain you control, then update that page instead.
