What a QR code actually contains
A QR code stores text in a pattern that a phone camera can read. That text might be a website address, telephone link, email address, SMS instruction or ordinary message. A static QR code does not secretly redirect through MakeLiora: the destination you enter is encoded directly into the image.
This makes the destination important. If you encode an incorrect URL, the downloaded QR code will continue pointing to that incorrect address. Review spelling, HTTPS and any page path before generating the final version.
Choose the correct QR code type
- Website: for a landing page, menu, registration form or donation page.
- Phone: opens the visitor’s dialler with a number prepared.
- Email: opens a new email addressed to your chosen inbox.
- SMS: starts a text message to a specified number.
- Text: displays plain information without opening another website.
Use the most specific type. A phone number entered as plain text may only display on screen, while a phone-type QR code can open the dialler.
